Kenneth Johnston Lori Morrow July 1, 2008 Dallas DALLAS – Attorney Kenneth Johnston, a Director of Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC, has earned a spot among “The Defenders,” an annual listing of the top business defense attorneys in North Texas, as reported by the Dallas Business Journal.
Mr. Johnston is one of 15 area attorneys recognized by the newspaper in a June 12 special section highlighting the lawyers to whom companies turn in high-stakes defense litigation. To compile the list, Dallas Business Journal reporters solicited nominations and interviewed dozens of general counsel, judges and attorneys in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.
“Given the uncertain economic climate and other external factors affecting businesses, I anticipate that corporate litigation will only increase,” says Mr. Johnston. “Any company involved in a legal dispute would be well-served by the attorneys featured on this list. It’s an honor to be included in such prestigious company.”
Mr. Johnston routinely represents financial services companies in a variety of litigation matters, including class actions, credit risk management, lender liability, statutory and regulatory compliance, and insolvency. He also represents oil and gas companies in a myriad of disputes ranging from corporate governance to operations.
Martindale Hubbell has recognized Mr. Johnston with an AV® Peer Review Rating — the highest ranking among his peers. He has been included on the Texas Super Lawyers list, deemed a “Rising Star” in the Texas legal community by Law & Politics Magazine, and named by D Magazine in 2006 as one of Dallas’ “Best Lawyers Under 40.”
He recently authored Oil and Gas Investment Schemes, a Presentation at the North American Petroleum Accounting Conference, May 15, 2008; Tough Times on the Auction Block, Texas Lawyer, (May 2008); and The Subprime Morass: Past, Present and Future, 12 N.C. Banking Inst. 125 (March 2008).
