September 9, 2009 Boston, MA (September 9, 2009)– Burns & Levinson LLP announces that intellectual property attorneys Deborah J. Peckham and Dr. Ronda P. Moore have joined the firm. This addition further expands the Firm’s Intellectual Property practice and strengthens its resources and depth in the life sciences, trademark and copyright areas. Attorneys Peckham and Moore previously practiced at the law firms K&L Gates LLP and the former Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP.

Deborah J. Peckham concentrates her practice on intellectual property counseling and enforcement, with a focus on strategic acquisition and maintenance of domestic and international property assets, including trademark and copyright protection, privacy, data protection and information law issues. She represents clients in a variety of industries, from high-tech to financial services institutions and other traditional lines of business. She often works with companies in computer software and internet-related issues, as well as computer and internet gaming issues. Ms. Peckham’s litigation experience includes trademark, patent, copyright, counterfeiting and general commercial disputes. She received her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Boston College Law School in 1993 and her A.B., cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1983.
Ronda P. Moore, D.V.M provides legal advice in all aspects of intellectual property while applying her past experience as a veterinarian and scientist and her background in pathology. She works with inventors and senior management of pharmaceutical, biologic, medical device and medical diagnostic companies, start-ups and emerging companies, venture capital, as well as colleges and universities in various intellectual property issues. Much of her representation involves patent procurement especially in the area of worldwide strategic patent and trademark portfolio development, merger and acquisition due diligence, intellectual property licensing, and validity, freedom to operate, and non-infringement analysis. Many of Dr. Moore’s clients are in a variety of different technologies such as medical devices for interventional procedures, in the urogenital, cardiovascular and neurological systems, wound healing products, diagnostic assays, automated clinical analytical instrumentation, endoscopic equipment, pharmaceuticals, gene therapy, cell-based therapies, and recombinant medical products. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1998, her D.V.M from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1976, and her B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont in 1972.
