RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (November 6, 2009) --- Erin R. McNeill has joined the Risk Management practice group of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C., and will practice law from the Richmond office, practice chair Terrence L. Graves announced today.

“Erin has clerked for us while in law school through the Summer Associate program, and we are proud to welcome her back as a full-time lawyer,” said Graves.

Along with her Risk Management appointment, Erin has joined the Animal Law team. She will focus her law practice on the defense of private companies, and insurers and their clients in toxic tort, general liability, products liability and professional malpractice cases in state and federal courts.

As the firm’s 2008 summer associate, McNeill assisted with research, case preparation, document review, and other legal duties. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida, and  earned her law degree from the Marshall-Wythe Law School at the College of William and Mary.  At graduation, McNeill received the Herman Prize, awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Dean, president of the National Center for State Courts, and the director of the Center for Legal and Court Technology, demonstrated the greatest potential for contributing to the enhancement of the efficient administration of justice through the innovative use of technology.

McNeill also received the Family Law Book Award, given by the Virginia State Bar Family Law section, was honored with the Gambrell Professionalism Award, as the student from the Legal Skills section who best represent professionalism, public service, integrity, and dedication to the improvement of legal skills and received the Legal Skills Scholar Award, given annually by the Law School's innovative two-year program in legal research, writing, professional responsibility and client representation skills.
