Below are highlights from the exams:
Rankings were published in the September 17, 2009 issue of the Boston Globe.
Boston Preparatory Charter School scored 100% in English, Math and Science in the High School passing rates by district. Their 10th graders also ranked #1 in the state in Math and Science (1 out of 351 and 1 out of 341 respectively), and #2 in English (2 out of 353).
Boston’s Collegiate Charter scored 100% across the board in English, Math and Science in the High School passing rates by district. Their 10th graders also ranked #1 in the state in Math (1 out of 351).
Prospect Hill Academy Charter scored 100% in both English and Math, and 98% in Science also at the High School level.
MCAS is designed to meet the requirements of the Education Reform Law of 1993. The testing program must test all public school students in Massachusetts, including students with disabilities and limited English proficient students measure performance based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework learning standards; report on the performance of individual students, schools, and districts. In addition and as required by the Education Reform law, students must pass grade 10 tests in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics as one condition of eligibility for a high school diploma (in addition to fulfilling local requirements). Further, the MCAS program is used to hold schools and districts accountable, on an annual basis, for the progress they have made toward the objective of the No Child Left Behind Law that all students be proficient in Reading and Mathematics by 2014.
Congratulations again. We are very proud!
