February 2, 2010 Burns & Levinson LLP, a Boston-based leading law firm with offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, announces that Associates Douglas E. Chin, Megan K. Maciasz and Michael V. Samarel have joined the Firm. The addition of these attorneys continues our growth plan and strengthens our Business Litigation and Intellectual Property/SciTech Practices.
Douglas E. Chin (Boston Office) is a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property/SciTech Group. He joined Burns & Levinson LLP in November 2009. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate at the law firm Ropes & Gray. Mr. Chin focuses on patent and trade secret litigation. Mr. Chin received a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2004. He also received a B.S., Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University in 1992.
Megan K. Maciasz (Providence Office) is a member of the Firm’s Business Litigation Group. She joined Burns & Levinson LLP in October 2009, after participating in the Firm’s Summer Associate Program in 2007. Before joining Burns & Levinson, Ms. Maciasz enjoyed a clerkship with Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell on the Rhode Island Supreme Court. She received a J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2008 and a B.A., with High Distinction, in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2005.
Michael V. Samarel (Boston Office) is a member of the Firm’s Business Litigation Group. He joined the Firm in September 2009, after participating in the Firm’s Summer Associate Program in 2008. While attending law school, he was a judicial intern for the Honorable Judith Dein in the U.S. Federal District Court in Boston and worked for the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board. Mr. Samarel received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2009 and a B.A. from Washington University in 2006.
