McCants selected as vice chair for DRI Construction Law Seminar June 17, 2010
Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims, P.A. shareholder, John L. McCants
has been selected as vice chair for the national DRI Construction Law Seminar,
which will be held in September in Las Vegas. As vice chair for the seminar,
McCants will be responsible for coordinating the seminar speakers and their
materials.
DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests
of businesses and individuals in civil litigation. It provides numerous
educational and informational resources to DRI members. This year’s
Construction Law Seminar will feature nationally recognized speakers, will
focus on construction litigation matters, and will offer learning opportunities
on engineering principles and e-discovery in construction litigation.
McCants is a member of the Ellis Lawhorne Litigation and
Dispute Resolution Practice Group. With more than 22 years of experience,
he focuses his practice on construction, commercial and business law. He earned
his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.
McCants was named to the 2010 edition of Best Lawyers in America® and was
recently named a 2010 South Carolina Super Lawyer. He is a member of the South
Carolina Bar, Richland County Bar Association, and the Defense Research
Institute.
