Burns & Levinson named 2011 Leader in Diversity by the Boston Business Journal

Boston-based law firm Burns & Levinson LLP is a proud recipient of a 2011 Boston Business Journal Leaders in Diversity Award for the category Workplace Diversity Initiative. The firm was recognized along with other diversity leaders at an event hosted by the publication on October 21, 2011.

The Leaders in Diversity award honors Boston business leaders who have set personal examples for others in the area of diversity and inclusion, and have built strong, effective and measurable diversity programs.

Burns & Levinson actively promotes diversity among its workforce, with an active women partners’ network, prominent gay and lesbian attorneys, and a structure designed to make these groups feel welcome and to help them grow in a measurable, defined manner. The firm has a non-discrimination policy and includes domestic partners in its benefit offerings.

Within the community, Burns & Levinson regularly employs Brighton High School teenagers with diverse backgrounds as part of the Boston Summer Jobs program, which coordinates paying job opportunities for inner-city teens.
