(May 11, 2020) — Deborah A. McDermott, a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, has joined Sands Anderson PC bringing with her an extensive background in estate planning and estate and trust administration, announced firm president Margaret F. Hardy. McDermott will join Sands Anderson’s Trust and Estate Planning team, and will work out of Sands Anderson’s Durham office. “We welcome Debbie to the firm and are pleased she has chosen Sands Anderson as her professional home,” said Hardy.

McDermott primarily represents and advises clients with estate planning and estate and trust administration. She has a wealth of experience mitigating income and transfer tax, planning for family members with unique needs and effectuating philanthropic goals.

McDermott was most recently at Kennon Craver PLLC. Prior to Kennon Craver she served first as a Certified Financial Planner™, then as a Gift Planning Officer at UNC-Chapel Hill helping donors wishing to include the University and the Rams Club in their estate plans.
