Fellers Snider's Cowan Appointed Kaw Nation Attorney General

Fellers Snider is pleased to announce that Klint A. Cowan has been selected to serve a three year term as the attorney general for the Kaw Nation.

The tribe's General Council selected Cowan following a thorough interview process. Cowan will represent the Kaw Nation in criminal matters in the courts of the Kaw Nation and in civil matters involving the Kaw Nation.

Cowan is a trial attorney who is part of the Federal Indian and Tribal Law practice at Fellers Snider. He has handled various tribal matters over the past 10 years including protection of sacred sites, vendor disputes, and Indian Child Welfare Act issues. Cowan has also handled numerous gaming law matters and has represented clients before federal agencies such as the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Office of Indian Gaming. He was selected by his peers as the 2015 Best Lawyers® Lawyer of the Year in Native American Law - Oklahoma City.

The Kaw Nation is a federally-recognized tribe with close to 3,400 members. The tribe's headquarters is located in Kaw City, Oklahoma.
