Joanne Mantis Appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus

Joanne Mantis, a maritime attorney in the New Orleans office of King & Jurgens, has been named Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus for Louisiana. The duties of this position include the enhancement of the bilateral relations between Cyprus and the USA in Louisiana, including in the areas of trade, economy, culture, education and science. Furthermore, the Honorary Consul provides consular services to Cypriot citizens (i.e. certification of signatures and/or perform similar functions, provides advice and guidance for traveling to Cyprus, provides assistance in case of emergency) and information related to Cyprus to the American citizens residing in Louisiana.

Joanne is an admiralty and maritime attorney focused on maritime business disputes and financial transactions. Her experience includes charter party disputes, cargo claims, vessel finance and documentation, collisions, allisions, marine casualties, maritime employment, criminal matters (crew homicide) and cargo explosions.
