Seven Kane Russell Coleman Logan Attorneys Named 2019 Texas Rising Stars

March 10, 2019

Super Lawyers has awarded seven Kane Russell Coleman Logan attorneys with its top recognition for young attorneys this year.  Michael Attaway, Demetri Economou, David Fisk, John Kane, Scott Riddle, Kenneth Riney and Melody Wang have been named to the 2019 Texas Rising Stars list.  These attorneys demonstrate the Firm’s wide-ranging legal service offerings in both the Firm’s Dallas and Houston offices, including corporate law, business litigation, bankruptcy law and employment law.

The Texas Rising Stars list is created annually by Thomson Reuters’ legal division.  The organization invites lawyers in each state to nominate their peers and then narrows the pool of nominees through extensive independent research and evaluation by a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers. This honor is ultimately awarded to only the top 2.5 percent of Texas lawyers who are 40 years old or younger or who have been in practice for 10 years or less.

At KRCL, we work to create an environment where young attorneys can grow and succeed in their careers. The Texas Rising Stars selections are another validation that we have a truly distinguished pool of young legal talent here,” said Co-Founder and Chairman of the Executive Committee Joseph Coleman. “Each of these attorneys is incredibly bright and hardworking, and this honor is well-deserved. It is our goal to continue to recruit such talent to the Firm.

Mike Logan, Co-Founder and Lateral Recruiting Partner, adds, “KRCL is committed to hiring, training and helping advance young lawyers in the Firm.  We are creating a legacy plan and culture that advances young lawyers into the future leaders of the Firm.  Selection to the Texas Rising Stars list is a good example of this effort.

Michael Attaway is a Director in the Firm’s Business and Corporate Group and joined the Firm in 2012.  He represents clients in connection with merger and acquisition transactions, commercial financing, and other business-related matters from the Firm’s Dallas office. This is the second consecutive year he has been listed as a Texas Rising Star.

Houston-based attorney Demetri Economou focuses his practice on labor and employment and litigation matters in the energy industry. He tries cases in state and federal courts and before administrative bodies. He has been named to the Texas Rising Stars list since 2017.

David Fisk, a Director in the Litigation Group, has been recognized on the highly-selective list of 2019 Texas Rising Stars Up-and-Coming 100. This is the sixth consecutive year that he has been selected to Texas Rising Stars. He concentrates his practice in large loss property subrogation and construction matters and has won his clients millions of dollars in recoveries over the years.

Director John Kane has also been recognized on the Texas Rising Stars list for six consecutive years. He practices in both the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation Sections.

Scott Riddle is a commercial litigator who has been named to the Texas Rising Star list since 2017. He represents clients in contractual disputes, product liability, and other complex business litigation.

Kenneth Riney, a Director in the Firm’s Litigation Group, defends businesses in the retail, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, multifamily residential and manufacturing industries in civil litigation.  He has been honored as a Texas Rising Star eleven times throughout his career.
