At an October 25 luncheon, the Portland Business Journal honored Tonkon Torp with an award in Corporate Philanthropy. Tonkon Torp earned a Top 10 ranking in the medium-size category for its cash donations in 2022. Tonkon Torp was the second highest company in the category when ranked by volunteer hours, with attorneys contributing more than 4,600 hours through pro bono representation and community engagement.

“We’re so pleased Tonkon Torp has been recognized for its community giving. It’s a real privilege to work at a firm that gives its attorneys the time and encouragement to pursue their passion for supporting meaningful causes,” said Kristin Bremer Moore, Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Charitable Giving Committee. “Going far beyond simply making financial donations, our firm has a rich history of encouraging attorneys to commit to nonprofit board service and to pro bono representation of those in need. Being a lawyer is not just a profession but a responsibility. A thriving community is the bedrock of justice, and our dedication to giving back is our way of helping to build a stronger, more equitable society.”

Among the organizations benefiting from Tonkon Torp’s philanthropy in 2022 were the Civics Learning Project (fka Classroom Law Project), the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC), and Transition Projects.
