Labor & Employment

The Labor & Employment Community brings together attorneys who practice in employment law, labor relations, and workplace compliance. The Community fosters collaboration, professional development, and discussion of evolving legal and regulatory issues. Members participate in virtual meetings and engage through a dedicated listserv for continuous dialogue and resource sharing.

The Community hosts virtual meetings with a featured educational/discussion topic, as well as face-to-face meetings at Law Firm Alliance meetings and national labor & employment conferences.

Labor & Employment Community meetings focus on:

  • Employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims under federal and state laws
  • Wage and hour compliance, including FLSA, state wage laws, and employee classification
  • Labor relations, collective bargaining, and union-management negotiations
  • Workplace investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and restrictive covenants
  • Employee benefits, including ERISA compliance and executive compensation 
  • Occupational safety and health (OSHA) and workplace safety regulations
  • Leave laws, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and paid leave mandates
  • Remote work policies, employee monitoring, and evolving workplace technologies
  • Interactions of employment law with immigration, tax, privacy, and data security laws
