Phoenix, AZ (August 3, 2020) – Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C., a leading Phoenix-based law firm, is pleased to announce that Tara M. Hughes, RP, ACP, Certified Paralegal, has been appointed to the 2020-2021 American Bar Association (ABA) Paralegal Approval Commission.

The ABA Paralegal Approval Commission is part of the ABA Standing Committee on Paralegals, who review paralegal programs around the country and provide ABA approval for the program if it meets the ABA Guidelines.  As a member of the Commission, she will be part of a site team that visits the programs and prepares a report that is reviewed by the Commission.  The Commission then provides its recommendations to the Standing Committee, who then sends their recommendations to the ABA’s House of Delegates, who will make the final determination regarding whether a program is considered an ABA Approved program.  The Commission consists of nine appointees by the ABA President Elect (seven attorneys, one public member and one paralegal) and one representative each from NALA, NFPA, IPMA and AAfPE (paralegal and paraprofessional organizations).

“I look forward to serving on the ABA Paralegal Approval Commission,” stated Tara Hughes, Certified Paralegal. “This gives me a greater chance to help further the paralegal profession.”
